This statement grew out of agonizing prayer. It is offered as an encouragement for belief in the Providence of God and our ability, with God’s help, to change our minds and our ways in trust that Almighty God will respond to the saving of our nation and land..

Here’s just a brief testimony of how this came to be on my heart. I have been a Christian for most of my life and a pastor and chaplain for a good portion of my adult life, not realizing or caring how truly carnal minded I had become. Over the last year or so I have had a real heavy-hearted concern about our nation and the downward spiral of our morals and our political and economic well being. One day in April of this year , ‘08, as I was driving home from our business, the Lord broke through to me and basically said, “ If you really want to do something for your country, get your life right with me!” I began sobbing as I was driving down I-45 and had to pull over to the side of the freeway. As I sat there the tears flowed down by face and the reality of the Lord’s word to me kept washing over me. I cried out for the Lord to truly fill me with his Spirit and remove evil from my heart and life. Since then, the Lord is doing “major reconstruction” in my heart.

The verse from 2 Chronicles 7:14 gives us clear instructions on seeking the Lord for the salvation of our land.

“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.”

This is a call to God’s People!! The verse is specific.

I want to be serious about this prescription for the healing of our land. Will God turn things around for us? Let us hope and pray and turn to Him in sincerity!
